“You’d Be a Fool Not to Follow Your Dream.” The Plain, Hard Truth You Need to Hear.

Aug 01, 2026

“You would be a fool not to follow your dreams.”

That’s what an entrepreneur friend said to me last week. And honestly, it’s still ringing in my ears.

(To be clear, we were having coffee and she was recounting a scenario she’d had with her business coach.)

Feeling confused and disillusioned, she’d gone to her and said “All my projects are unfinished. I can’t move forward. I put up blocks, I’m distracted… I’m questioning myself. I’m stuck. And I feel like a fool to keep chasing this dream.”

And her coach turned to her and said:

“Sure. You may feel like a fool now, but imagine how you’d feel if you gave up?

“You’d be a fool not to try. You’d be a fool not to follow your dream.

“And you’d be a fool not to follow your Vision.”

Now, if you know me, you’ll know this is not quite the language I would use.. 😅

Not because I disagree with her, but because I think there’s an important distinction.

You see, this coach makes the same mistake so many people do: your dreams and your vision are not not the same thing.

But they’re not the opposite either.

Dreams are images of possibility.

Vision is a possibility you’re willing to organize your life around.

A dream is “wouldn’t be beautiful if.” A vision says, “This is what I’m building”.

Dreams open the possibility, Vision is direction.

Every day, you choose that direction and you develop the capacity to embody it, for it to become your living reality.

A dream can stay a dream as long as you want it -- unreal, intangible, perfect. And forever out of reach.

But when you choose to step into your vision?

Well, that’s where the magic happens.

That’s what gets you moving.

And that’s what I want for you today...

It’s Unbelievable How Long it Can Take To Step Into Your Vision...

Looking back I’ve always had the same vision:

My vision is to create the conditions for people to come into deeper contact with themselves, so they can live, lead, love, and create from what is most true in them.

Because transformation is never only individual.

When one person changes, every relationship and system they touch begins to change with them.

But over the years, that vision has morphed and changed -- from rejecting medical school (because it “wasn’t quite right”) to working in a vegetarian restaurant, massage therapy, meditation, health coaching, Ayurveda, the wisdom of the East… and to incorporating all I do now.

I didn’t always know it. Sometimes my vision wasn’t directly in sight. It wasn’t consciously formed.

Back then, I came from a place that was not as self aware… Some of it was fear. Some of it perfectionism. Some of it was wanting more certainty before allowing myself to be fully seen.

Something else was also happening.

I wasn’t just gathering knowledge.

I was developing the capacity to hold the work I wanted to bring into the world.

I wanted to become a master of my craft.

Well, writing this today, I undoubtedly am. There’s no barrier between the essence of who I am and what I offer the world: what I genuinely care about, what I live for, and how I conduct my life. It’s 100% pure and 100% me.

Nothing is performative.

But for the longest time if I was to stand on stage, or the spotlight was on me??? That was a different matter.

Like my entrepreneur friend, I questioned myself.

I put up blocks.

I had a lack of capacity in my nervous system about being seen -- by the public, by other experts, or my teachers.

But all of that changed when I chose to embody my Vision.

Instead of fastening all my hopes and dreams on some far off horizon, I saw my vision as a boat that would carry me over any wave the sea of life could throw at me.

With that, my world opened up: new podcasts and platforms, clients and audiences.

The only thing I wish?

I’d done it sooner.

So, let’s turn the spotlight on you.

If you came to me (as my friend did with her business coach) blocked, distracted and “feeling like a fool for chasing a dream” -- what would I say?

I’d say…

Instead of dreaming your life away reconnect with your vision.

And…

Don’t let preparation become your hiding place.

There is a time where preparation serves us.

And there is a season where it becomes protection.

The process matters.

I know that it’s the process itself that grows us. The experience and wisdom you gain will determine whether you can actually live this life you dream of. It builds our capacity.

But eventually there comes a moment when life asks us to stop preparing...

To get out there and do the work.

So yes, you might feel a “fool” for not following your dreams.

But the real answer (and the one that will actually get you out of your head, and into action) is…

What’s your Vision?

And what’s interfering with your ability to make it the most important thing in your life and live it right now?

Take it from me: life is way too short to abandon something deeply important for you simply because it hasn’t happened yet.

So, that’s why I’d love to help you do just one thing...

Stop postponing your life.

Turn inward. Build self-awareness. Clarify your direction. Develop (as I did and am doing) the capacity to meet what life asks of you.

And then... participate.

Don’t spend your life preparing to live it.

Live it.

Love and Blessings, 🙏🏻💛🪷

Naomi

P.S. Let’s be honest, deep down you probably already know what matters to you: the parent you’d love to be, the leader you want to become, the marriage you want to create, the business you want to build, the health you want to embody…

The peace you want to wake up with.

But (I’ll say it again) if that’s true -- if these things are really that important to you -- what’s interfering with your ability to make it the #1 thing in your life and live it right now?

I don’t think most people have a vision problem.

I think they have an interference problem.

Well???

That’s the work I now dedicate my life to.

Helping people clearly see what’s pulling them away from themselves...

So they can develop the capacity to live, love, lead, create, and contribute from who they truly are.

Because when one person reconnects with themselves...

The effect doesn’t stop with them.

It changes families.

Teams.

Organizations.

Communities.

And ultimately...

Culture.

If this hit a nerve, I have a very special offer.

Last week I revealed a brand new way of working with me:

The Clarity Intensive is a ½ day virtual session where together we’ll explore what Vision means to you, and the deep dynamics that trip you up and stop you going out there and getting the life you really want.

Comment below with the words “Clarity Intensive” and I’ll send you all the details.
