Science Just Caught Up With What I’ve Been Practicing For 30 Years. And Honestly? I’m a Little Triggered...

May 15, 2026

“Seriously? What took you so long??”

That 👆was my reaction to a New York Times Article that landed in my inbox this week.

(So much so in fact, that even after my morning yoga and meditation, I was still a little riled.)

The article in question went something like this:

It’s all Connected

We’ve long known about two systems in the human body that circulate fluids. The first, the lymphatic system, was discovered in Italy in 1622. Six years later, an English doctor described the second, the cardiovascular system, which pumps blood through our arteries, veins and capillaries.

Now, scientists think they may have come across a third, “the Interstitium.” A “hidden pathway” between layers and organs that allows fluids, cells and molecules to move around the body before re-entering the lymphatic and cardiovascular systems.

The implications of a new circulatory system — for our health, and for our understanding of our own bodies — are potentially enormous.

So why, you may wonder, did I find this quite so triggering?

Well, the first thing I thought was: “Of course it’s all connected! How obvious can it get?!”

And perhaps that sounds a little strong…

But, believe me, it’s so incredibly frustrating to have done this work for more than 30 years -- and seen so many people suffer when they did not need to -- simply because our Western healthcare system is not designed to help them.

Yes, every facet of the body is “all connected” : body, mind, emotion, psychology, energy; mental health, physical health… all of it. It’s something I’ve studied, learned, lived, and even come to revere. (And my years of practice is nothing when you consider that many ancient cultures have been talking about this for over 4,000 years.)

To the journalist’s credit, he says the idea of a third energy system will “not come as a surprise to anyone who practises traditional Chinese medicine.”

In fact...

“Mention the interstitium to an acupuncturist and you might get an eye roll, like, “No kidding.” ”

But I'd go one further, and say if you understand anything about:

Energetics

Meditation

Breathwork

Circadian rhythm

Lymphatic massage

Intermittent fasting

Eating unprocessed foods

Sunlight exposure

Tongue scraping

Oil pulling

Hot and cold therapy

Saunas, steams, cold plunges...

(I could go on)

… Every single one of them is derived from Eastern tradition.

And every single one of them has either had an influence on my work -- or is something we will absolutely explore if we work together -- alongside some more conventional, Western modalities.

(In fact, “West Meets East” was another subhead in the article, and that’s exactly how I’ve been introducing myself on podcasts recently.)

Still, let’s look at it all another way…

It’s good to know when you’re ahead of the curve.

It’s good to know this work is finally getting the attention it deserves.

And it’s good to know that YOU have the chance to invest in the next generation of self-development, way before everyone else is even thinking about it.

P.S. In truth, there are many, many reasons why I’m passionate about this subject, not least because I’ve personally experienced it with my own health.

I’ve also seen hundreds of clients -- many of whom have wasted thousands of dollars and countless hours trying to figure out where their problem started -- when if they’d just started this work earlier, it could all be very, very different.

But it’s far too impassioned to put it all here 😉

So, that’s the subject of this week’s Audio Edition.

It’s a juicy one alright!
